All about balance
Enjoy stereo sound that's just right. The custom acoustics precisely harmonize high and mid-range frequencies while proprietary anti-distortion technology produces perfectly weighted bass.
Crisp dialogue
Never miss a word. Fine-tuned with help from award-winning Hollywood sound engineers, Ray ensures you can always follow the story.
Brings the drama
Feel like you're at the centre of it all. Split waveguides project sound from wall to wall, and advanced processing accurately positions elements in the room.
Tuned to perfection
Trueplay tuning technology adapts the sound for the unique acoustics of your space so content always sounds just the way it should.
*Supported iOS device required.
Designed to be tucked away
All the acoustic elements face forward to minimise interference from nearby surfaces so, even if you place it in your TV stand, Ray always sounds phenomenal.
Nothing gets in the way of your entertainment
The compact and understated design seamlessly blends into your home and won’t pull focus from what’s happening on screen.
Zero-stress setup
Go from unboxing to unbelievable sound in minutes. Just plug in the power cable, connect your TV, and open the Sonos app. It does most of the work for you.

Connect Ray to virtually any TV, and use your existing remote to control the sound. For a next-level gaming setup, connect your PC.
*TV or PC must have optical output.

When the TV is off, play music, radio, podcasts, and audiobooks from all your services over WiFi using the Sonos app, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and more.*
*Voice requires a compatible third-party device, such as Sonos One, Amazon Echo, or Google Nest Home. Availability varies by country and language.
Tailor your home cinema experience with the Sonos app
Turn on Speech Enhancement for even clearer dialogue when characters whisper or the music swells. Turn on Night Sound to reduce the intensity of loud effects when you don't want to disturb anyone else at home.

   Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
-
Which Sonos speakers work as surrounds?
A matching pair of the following speakers will work as surrounds: Sonos One (including SL), Sonos Five, Play:1, Play:3, and Play:5 (Gen 2). You can also use Sonos Amp to power in-wall, in-ceiling, or other passive speakers as surrounds.
-
How do I know if my TV has optical output?
Not all TVs have an optical connection, but many do. An optical connection is a plastic socket with either a small flap or plastic bung insert labelled Optical Audio, TOSLINK, or something similar. Please check your TV manual if you are unsure.
-
Can I stream using Bluetooth?
Ray does not have Bluetooth connectivity but streams audio content over your WiFi network. Internet access allows you to stream higher fidelity audio over greater distances, group or pair Sonos speakers, and more.
-
Can I use the Sonos S1 Controller app with Ray?
Ray requires the latest generation of the Sonos app, Sonos S2, and is incompatible with the older Sonos S1 app.
-
What is the best placement for Ray?
All of the acoustic components face forward for maximum versatility. Ray can be mounted, placed on top of furniture, or tucked into an enclosed shelf of your TV stand. We recommend at least 5 mm of space between the edges and any surrounding surfaces.
-
Can I connect a subwoofer to Ray?
Ray is compatible with all generations of Sonos Sub. The soundbar will not work with a third-party subwoofer.
-
What's the difference between optical and HDMI eARC?
Both optical and HDMI eARC connections transmit multi-channel audio from a TV to a soundbar.Optical is available on most TVs and supports surround sound with up to 5.1 channels. Because this type of connection does not pass remote control commands, Ray receives volume and mute commands from a TV remote using IR (infrared) technology. Check the specifications of your TV model to confirm IR remote and optical capabilities.HDMI eARC provides higher bandwidth and supports 7.1 channel surround sound as well as high-resolution formats, including Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus. This type of connection also uses CEC technology to pass remote control commands.
-
Can I use voice control with Ray?
You can use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant with a compatible device, such as Sonos One, Amazon Echo Dot, or Google Nest Mini. While streaming with AirPlay 2, you can use Siri on your iOS device to control Apple Music.
